3 Reasons to book a family photoshoot

Are you putting off a family photo shoot?

Put your hand up if you have been guilty of the following thoughts:

  •  I’m too busy

  • I really need to loose 10 lbs first

  • My roots need doing and my hair is a mess

Don’t worry, you’re not alone in your thoughts. By nature we are really tough on ourselves and say things that we would never dream of saying to someone else. Can you imagine telling a friend to loose a bit of weight before getting some family photos taken? No way. You’d probably tell them to go for it and get some fabulous memories for her children to treasure. Kids certainly wouldn’t notice if mum was a dress size too many, they wouldn’t even care.

Don’t let life pass you by, don’t make any excuses, and don’t set yourself up for a future conversation with yourself starting with ‘I wish…’

Here are 3 reasons why family photoshoots are important

1) To document growth

We are so busy thinking about our futures that we forget that taking photos of the here and now become memories of our past.

2) Life Happens

We may not want to admit it but the make up of a family can change without warning and loved ones may pass on. Sometimes you never realise the value of a photograph until that is all you have left.

3) Reliving memories

Looking at old photos is a great way to reminisce, with old friends or with younger members of the family who have never seen your old photos before. They  provide a glimpse of the past like no other. Certainly our lives would be far less enriched without having photos to share with one another.

If you’ve been thinking about a family photoshoot then do it now for your children, they won’t notice the roots, a few extra pounds, a smile line or even a fading tan; but they will be disappointed when they are older and there are no family photos to share with you and your grandchildren.
