The 9 month milestone photoshoot

As a newborn photographer in Harpenden, I love to see returning babies come back for their milestone photos - generally taken aged 6-9 months. By this time your little bundle of joy really is giving you something to laugh about as playtime has really cranked up a notch! They have now been in the world exactly as long as they have been in the womb and wow, look at all the changes that have taken place in BOTH your lives.

 The 9 month milestone is a great age to photograph, and very different from your newborn photoshoot. Generally the newborn shoot is about 3-4 hours long and it is a very relaxed session, where you have lots of time to watch the shoot unfold, snack and catch up on all your social media. With a 9 month session however we are looking at 40 mins to hour max and you are very much involved, afterall you are the number ONE playmate! Being fast is the name of the game with these photoshoots! Babies at this age are not known for their patience, so I set up my shots quickly and move on to the next one before the baby gets tired of performing and decides to call it a day.

Props are a good idea at this age to simply attract their attention. Bubbles, bells, tickling sticks and their favourite comforter are all good to have. As babies also love to have music at their sessions, so please let me know in advance what their favourite tunes are and I’ll have them set up and ready to go!
