7 simple tips to taking top holiday photos

Summer holidays are a fantastic time for photo opportunities and to help you add a bit of style and flair to this year’s album,  I’ve put together a few simple tips that will help you get the best photos you've ever created!

1. Silhouette.

I love these images, taken at the end of the day when the sun is lower in the sky and the light is less harsh. You might have put your camera away by now thinking that the day is done, but it’s not, this is one of the best times for photos!!

2. Action photos!

My favourite! Kids love these images and a natural smile is guaranteed!

3. Frame them!

Put your subjects into a frame by photographing them in a doorway, window or arch.

4. Candid, thoughtful moments.

We will always have posed holiday photos where we get our kids to smile and look at the camera, but also try and capture a more candid, thoughtful moment when they’re not looking.

5. From up high.

If there's an opportunity to get higher up then go for it, it will provide you with a totally different perspective that will create a more exciting composition.

6. From down low.

And, conversely, take the lower ground and shoot upwards  - but not too close that you're looking up nostrils!

7. Get a sense of where you are.

Finally, look out for signs to show where you were when the photo was taken - in this case it was the fishing village of Baltimore in County Cork. Ireland!

If you’d rather leave the photography skills to someone else then get intouch once you’re back from your holiday and arrange a sunset photoshoot while you’re all relaxed and sun kissed!

Happy holidays,
